Spectrum is a collection of three Audio Unit synthesizers and one Audio Unit effect, inspired by popular eurorack synthesizer modules created by Mutable Instruments.
The collection includes four audio units:
- Spectrum: This multi-mode 8-voice polyphonic oscillator offers 14 high-quality oscillator algorithms and supports MPE.
- Modal: Modal synthesis allows you to create bowed, blowed, and struck sounds through a 64-band resonator. Modal is also included as an effect.
- Resonator: Resonator features seven beautiful string generation algorithms and is also included as an effect.
- Granular: Granular is a versatile audio unit that functions as a sampler, looper, pitch shifter, and reverb effect. Please note that Granular is an Audio Unit effect, not an instrument, so it needs to be placed in an effect slot.
To utilize Spectrum, simply load the Audio Units into your preferred Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) or AU host such as Audiobus, GarageBand, or AUM.
Each audio unit within Spectrum offers the following features:
- Modulation LFO with tempo sync, key reset, and reset phase adjustment
- Modulation ADSR envelope
- XY touchpad (except on the Modal unit)
- A 2-source modulation matrix that enables the creation of complex and evolving patches
- MIDI CC control of parameters
- Resonator and Modal can also be loaded as AudioUnit effects
Spectrum contains DSP code that is provided under the MIT open-source license by Mutable Instruments.
